About

Christina Grethe completed her training as a Medical Technical Laboratory Assistant at the Hannover Medical School in 1997, graduating with the state examination. She then worked for four years at the Paracelsus Clinic in Langenhagen, where she was involved in the central laboratory as well as in radiology, ECG, and pulmonary function diagnostics. From 2001 to 2009, Christina Grethe gained extensive experience at Digilab BioVisioN GmbH, a biotechnology company in Hannover, particularly in the fields of molecular biology, cell culture, and biochemistry. After the company ceased operations in 2009, she took parental leave until the end of January 2010, before joining the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the Hannover Medical School in February 2010. 

Since October 2010, she has been working in the research group of Prof. Dr. Pietschmann, where she is currently focused on the discovery and characterization of substances targeting human respiratory viruses.
