Research in Hannover is making important contributions to the field of infection medicine
Eleven pupils gain an insight into infection research

In 2026, TWINCORE once again took part in the nationwide Future Day for girls and boys. On 23 April, eleven children aged between 12 and 14 took the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the research centre. Following the mandatory safety briefing by safety officer Dr Annett Ziegler on laboratory conduct and a welcome address by Executive Director Prof. Ulrich Kalinke, the pupils were given a tour of the laboratories at the Institute of Experimental Virology. They then had the chance to carry out an experiment under the expert supervision of the technical assistants. Later in the morning, they also visited the building’s technical facilities. The Future Day concluded with a discussion session with Prof. Yannic Bartsch, who explained the various career paths using his own career as an example.
