Maria Tariq

Maria Tariq is a PhD student working in the group of Thomas Pietschmann. In her master thesis, she focused her research on the Foot and Mouth Disease Virus and obtained her degree in microbiology from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Pakistan. Prior to her doctoral studies, she served as a Research Associate in a cell culture lab at UVAS. 

Her current research, funded by a DAAD research grant, focuses on the tropism of hepatitis C virus. The title of her project is "Determinants of Innate Immune Control and Tissues Tropism of HCV".
