Sonja Jesse

Sonja T. Jesse is a German-American veterinarian, VMTA and virologist. After graduating as a veterinary technical assistant (VMTA) in 2011, she studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo). From 2017 to 2022, she completed her doctorate at the Research Centre for Emerging Infections and Zoonoses (RIZ) at the TiHo in the field of virus discovery.  

Since 2022, she has been part of the Experimental Virology team at TWINCORE, where she works as a Medical Writer and Science Officer for the HZI Programme Board. Sonja is passionate about science communication and has an overview of the questions and projects of our EVIR scientists.
