Mareike Schubert is a trained VMTA and veterinarian. After working as a techician in the research group of Prof. Dr. Albert Osterhaus at the Research Centre for Emerging Infections and Zoonoses (RIZ) at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) for 1.5 years, she began studying veterinary medicine at the TiHo in 2017. After graduating in 2023, she started as a PhD student in the "Antiviral Antibody Omics" research group of Prof. Dr. Yannic Bartsch at TWINCORE in May of the same year. 
As part of her doctoral thesis, she is investigating the Fc effector mechanisms of antibodies during RSV infections. In addition to her scientific work, she supports Dr. Inken Waltl in the veterinary care of the laboratory animals at TWINCORE.
