Matthias Bruhn wins the eBioMedicine cover competition.
The cover of the June issue of the journal eBioMedicine features a picture of TWINCORE scientist Dr Matthias Bruhn. The journal had invited the first author of the manuscript "Somatic hypermutation shapes the viral escape profile of SARS-CoV-2 neutralising antibodies" to take part in the competition for the cover.
Bruhn convinced the editors with his montage of a photo of two cubes and a structure of an antibody molecule. The digital artwork visualises the stochastic process that takes place in B cells for affinity maturation and was created using normal graphics programs; the use of artificial intelligence was not permitted.
