7th TWINCORE SYMPOSIUM

There is a saying that the 7th year is always a special one. In its best sense this is certainly also true for TWINCORE , a joint venture between the Helmholtz-Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and the Hannover Medical School (MHH ): During 7 years of intensive work we helped to further reinforce collaborations between HZI and MHH , and we contributed to set up many new physician scientist projects. One result of this endeavor is that more and more aspects of individualised infection research become apparent. Thus, instead of inviting external speakers for our 7th TWINCORE symposium we are welcoming experts from HZI, MHH and TWINCORE to give short talks and to discuss aspects of individualised infection research. A logical next step is now to further promote individualised infection medicine. Therefore we are particularly happy that Prof. Dr. med Michael P. Manns recently was appointed Founding Director of the Centre for Individualised Infection Medicine (CIIM ). At the end of the symposium, the formal inauguration of the virtual CIIM will take place. We are looking forward having intensive discussions!
